Abstract:In the era of artificial intelligence, the core subject of moral education in colleges—college students—faces subjectivity crises such as weakened value steadfastness in algorithmic environments, the emergence of learning anxiety in intelligent knowledge generation, and declining optimism under employment threats. The integration of AI into moral education in colleges encounters three major tensions: first, the expansion of AI technical rationality conflicts with the humanistic tradition of moral education, where technocratic problem-solving compresses the survival space of moral education; second, the rapid iteration of AI technology far surpasses previous rates, severely impacting the stability emphasized by moral education; third, AI-driven personalization leads students to rely more on online and virtual communication, shrinking the communal activity space for moral education. Therefore, moral education in colleges must undergo reforms in three key areas: first, strengthening AI foundational education to enhance students’ understanding and cognition of AI, establishing AI-based moral education classrooms; second, continuously innovating mainstream value guidance mechanisms in the digital-intelligent context, exploring the direction and carriers of moral education in the AI era; third, standardizing AI-era moral education evaluation and governance mechanisms, creating a more process-oriented evaluation system and tool usage standards. Overall, moral education in colleges should actively transform and explore the new paradigm of “AI+” moral education, making AI a fundamental aid in colleges fostering virtue through education.
