Revitalizing Traditional Chinese Philosophy with the Analytic Approach: The Case of “Philosophizing” Confucianism
LIU Ji-lu
This paper advocates philosophizing Confucianism with the approach of analytic philosophy. In China, Chinese classics are taught in Chinese literature, history and philosophy departments, but philosophers need to treat the texts differently from those other disciplines. In other words, Chinese philosophers should engage with Chinese classics philosophically. To do so in the contemporary philosophical world, we need to employ Western philosophical analysis to reconstruct traditional Confucianism. The language and the topics in Western analytic philosophy may not help improve the substance of Chinese philosophy; nevertheless, but it is an indispensable tool, a language skill, which can aid communication of ideas. If Confucianism cannot get out of its inner circle and let the Western philosophical world see its diverse thinking modes and ideas, then it will not be able to draw research interest from newcomers. Only when more and more people are willing to enter the circle of Chinese philosophy will the field thrive with renewed energy. If, on the other hand, Chinese philosophers stay within their own circles, engage in discussions only with insiders, the circle of Chinese philosophy will be stagnant, constricted, and eventually become merely a decoration in some remote corner of world philosophy.

Spillover of Chinese Lacquer Culture along the Silk Road in Han and Tang Dynasties: Opportunities,Pathways and Effects
HU Yu-kang
In a global context, the spillover of lacquer culture in the Han and Tang Dynasties is a form of cultural export, diffusion and interaction, and a way of mutually beneficial dialogue and integration with foreign cultures as well. It is exemplary of Chinese culture spillover and has its unique content. The Silk Road, ports, and trade provided opportunities for the spillover of the lacquer culture in Han and Tang Dynasties, while trade, religion, envoy-dispatching and tribute missions served as the principal ways of cultural export. Although the lacquer culture was strong for its positive effects upon foreign cultures, the people of Han and Tang Dynasties of inclusive cultural mentality and global perspective certainly achieved bidirectional interaction as they accepted foreign cultures and so improved and reformed their own culture. During the analysis, the author finds out the imported foreign cultures usually have positive impact upon the exporter when the latter has advantages in traditional culture. If the cultures of the exporter and importer are complementary, the potential cultural spillover effects are certainly more easily absorbed.

The History and Logic of Lacquer Culture along the Marine Silk Road in Yuan Dynasty: from a Tribe to a State
PAN Tian-bo
From a Mongolian tribe to the state of Yuan Dynasty, the development of ancient Chinese lacquer art experienced a cultural fission from “a community” to “a political entity”. The study of lacquer culture involves many practical issues at a tribe level, such as “slave labor" "technological trends", and “plant pattern”, but the Marine Silk Road opened a new space for cross-cultural dialogue between East and West for diversity development of lacquer culture and national culture, and released enormous energy in overseas culture diffusion. The lacquer culture spillover of Yuan Dynasty along the Marine Silk Road not only promoted the technology perfection of lacquer ware, but also reshaped the image of national culture of Yuan Dynasty in the world and inspired the imagination of Chinese culture among people overseas. Besides, it witnessed the historical meaning and logic content of the transformation of Mongolian people from a tribe to a state.

The Impact of Internet Crowd-funding on the Development of Chinese Music Industry
HUANG Yong-lin, ZHU Ya-yang
With rapid development of Internet technology, we have witnessed the radical changes from Web 1.0 era to Web 2.0, which enables users to generate content and interact with web pages online. Thus crowd-funding emerges. Different from traditional financing model, crowd-funding is an outcome of development in fundraising business activities under an Internet context. Crowd-funding provides a new school of thoughts in terms of financing model for cultural industry, organically combining cultural industry with the development of Internet. This paper introduces and explains the concept of crowd-funding by analyzing some overseas classic crowd-funding cases. Besides, it takes music crowd-funding as the research subject. Based on a developed music crowd-funding website called Musikid, it analyses the profound impact of crowd-funding model upon audience (fans), musicians and the music industry, etc.. Meanwhile, it makes comparison with some mature foreign music crowd-funding models, and takes a deeper look into the localization of Chinese music crowd-funding. Finally, the paper makes prospects on the development of music crowd funding.

QIN Zong-cai, LIU Li
In media convergence era, with strong technology, platforms and user advantage, video websites have been continuously opening up commercial blue sea. Video websites developed earlier and more quickly in Euramerican developed?countries. Some main stream websites have mature operation modes, taking lead in the world and enjoying dominant market shares. The Euramerican main stream websites have their own advantages in value proposition, target users, distribution channels, core competence, and partners. The core competitiveness based on their own advantages determines the operation modes and profit-making approaches of individual video websites. In general, the operation modes of Euramerican video websites are classified into UGC, Hulu, combiation of Internet and TV stations, P2P, and interactive social video service mode and so on. The Landmark Work Marking the Establishment of Historical Materialism—in Memory of the 170th Anniversary of
German Ideology
ZHAO Jia-xiang
German Ideology
marks the establishment of historical materialism. It plays a very important role in the history of Marxism. The basic tenets and important thoughts discussed in this work include: “Realistic individuals are the starting point of historical materialism; social being determines social consciousness; material production is the basis for the existence and development of human society; “two production theory”; social basic contradictions are the basic motive force of historical development; there is a relationship of dialectical?unity between man and the environment; division of labor and its role in social development; forms of ownerships and the division?of the?social?formation; the practice viewpoint is the primary and essential point of Marx’s philosophy. These basic tenets and important thoughts constitute the scientific system of historical materialism.

The Historical Evolution and Abuses of“Confucian Orthodoxy”in Song and Ming Dynasties
CAI Fang-lu
“Confucian Orthodoxy” is a fundamental theory which has a significant impact on the development of Confucianism. The concept of“Confucian Orthodoxy”has existed since ancient times. It was first officially brought up in Tang Dynasty with clear theoretical pertinence as a response to the prevalence of Buddhism that challenged the orthodox Confucianism in Sui and Tang Dynasties. As many ideologists presented and advocated such theory in Song and Ming Dynasties, there was a consensus that the inheritance of Confucianism had never been suspended since the era of Confucius so as to stand up to the challenges from Buddhism and Taoism. They promoted enlightenment by education with morality (
dao
道) as its core doctrine, and benevolence, righteousness, rites and music as its content with an aim to create a new academic atmosphere focusing on universal principle, humanity, disposition and morality. The appearance of “Confucian Orthodoxy” was inevitable. It promotes the development of Confucianism and has far-reaching impact upon Chinese culture. However, there are some pernicious and?corrupt?tendencies in the course of its evolutionary development worthy of analysis, such as its reversionary historical view, exclusive orthodox thought, more emphasis on morality than on literature, and “be sage within” being more valued than “be kingly without”, etc.. “Confucian Orthodoxy”, with its profound cultural origin, deserves to be given much more attention to dig out its value that might be beneficial to modern society. On the basis of inheritance and development of Chinese cultural tradition, the theory needs continuous development and innovation to go with the times.

On the Discourse Text of Chinese Dream
WANG Rui-hua
The growing logic of the discourse text of “Chinese dream” can be analyzed from several aspects such as its goal, starting point, vision, people-oriented idea, and development. From the perspective of time value, the discourse text of “Chinese dream” has the leading value of empowering people, the theoretical value of moving with the times, the spiritual value of inspiring ideals, the ideological value of building consensus, and the future-oriented practical value. Under the new situation, the strategic requirements of the discourse text of “Chinese dream” are as follows: continuously updating ideas to establish confidence in theory; holding socialist banner to fulfill confidence in course choice; advancing the reform and opening up policy to reveal confidence in our institution; promoting Chinese spirit to increase national confidence; following a clear development direction to achieve full realization of our dreams.

TPP and the New Rules of International Trade in Service and China’s Countermeasures
NI Yue-ju
Globalization and the fast development of international trade in service call for corresponding rules. The stagnant Doha Round called forth the appearance of the rules in regional and plurilateral trade in service. The U.S., in particular, intends to use its dominated TPP to establish a new generation of “high standard” liberalization of trade in service. However, the rules of trade in service in TPP are characterized by high standard in commitment, overall structure, the further liberalization of key service departments, and promotion of the opening-up of the service markets with the help of “the unity of supervision and management”. These high-standard new rules of trade in service represent the direction of future international trade in service. Although China has made attempts in the liberalization of trade in service and achieved some progress, on the whole, we still fall far behind the new rules of international trade in service represented by TPP. China therefore should take precaution. Only when we know both ourselves and our opponents can we cope with the challenges posed by the new rules of international trade in service.

Political Risks and Controls of Oversea Investment by Chinese Enterprises:Based on the Countries along “One Belt One Road”
HUANG He, Starostin Nikita
Political risks in international investment refer to the discontinuity in business environment caused by political factors. They can be any type of political event (such as war, terrorism, the intervention of the third country, etc.) resulting in the loss of the potential profit of an international investment or asset loss. We generally classify political risks by their routine, effects, sources, and “conventional” or “unconventional”. With the advance of “One Belt and One Road”Initiative, Chinese enterprises will keep expanding their field, scope and scale in international direct investment in the countries along “One Belt and One Road”. Meanwhile, from a geopolitical point of view, a “social and political risk arc”, covering Central South Peninsula, South Asia, Central Asia, West Asia and North Africa, has taken shape from east to west on the Eurasian continent. Geopolitically, it overlaps the territory of the countries involved in China’s “One Belt One Road” Initiative and a number of key destinations for China’s outbound investment, which escalates the political risks for Chinese enterprises. Therefore, the ability to control political risks has become a key factor which determines the success of our “going out” strategy. China needs to make effective policies, evaluate the risks in advance, and formulate precautionary measures as early as possible.

The Historical Evolution of the Value of Due Process of Law——on the Common Law of Anglo-American States
WANG Dong
The due process of American constitution originated from the tradition of English common law. Although early due process was more procedural rules than substantial ones, it had developed into substantial procedure in American legal system after the philosophical reform of natural rights. Both the substantive due process and the procedural due process are intrinsically related to natural rights. The early association existed as a fact which is limited strictly by traditional natural law. And the subsequent substantive due process indicates that the judges were well aware of this intrinsic relationship, consciously applied the principles of natural rights to the innovation of traditional procedure, which further developed and enriched the content of due process of law. The evolution from procedural connotation to substantive connotation of due process of law is the result of gradual combination of process of common law and the idea of natural right.

Reflection upon the Theoretical Logic and System of Deliberative Environmental Governance: Based on Measues on Public Participation in Environmental Protection
QING Peng, TANG Dao-hong
The theoretical knowledge of deliberative environmental governance comes from the grasp of its inner meaning and the analysis of its theoretical sources. Public participation in environmental governance helps safeguard and realize the environmental rights of the general public, and is valuable in practice and theory from entities to procedures. Starting from human nature, Habermas deduced deliberative democracy theory from the logic of communicative reason. This democracy model and public affairs feed into and push each other. The real predicaments facing deliberative environmental governance are the deficiency of private subject participation system and the prevalence of conservatism. Therefore, we need to carry out good governance to better the relationship between the government and the citizens, reform the administrative order of environment, and innovate social administration so as to promote the development of environmental civil society.

A Multi-perspective Research on Ancient Chinese Popular Literature——an Interview with Professor ZHAO Xiao-huan of Sydney University
YANG Zheng-juan, ZHAO Xiao-huan
Interdisciplinary and multi-perspective research is a major approach of the study of ancient Chinese popular literature. The interviewed Prof. ZHAO Xiao-huan touched upon many issues in Chinese literature study, such as the theoretical research on classical Chinese novels and drama, the relationship between classical novels and literary tradition, and comparison between Chinese and Japanese drama. His viewpoints are summarized as follows: with reference to Propp’s morphological theory, analysis can be made of the narrative features and structural function models of classical Chinese supernatural fictions and drama; the theoretical framework of fictions comprised of “prototype”, “schema”, and “procedure” helps explain the formation of Chinese literary tradition; Chinese and Japanese dramas are closely related in many ways such as role types and expressions.

Cultural Transformation and the Narrative Changes of Contemporary Historical Novels
YUAN Yuan
Since 1990s, the ecological environment of Chinese literature has undergone fundamental changes. The modern aesthetic system characteristic of psychoanalysis, form exploration, and discourse experiment has been challenged by the post-modern aesthetic system of visualization, entertainment focus and daily themes. Historical novels have been experiencing omnidirectional transformation: they have shifted from unitary-style writing to cross-style creation in narration, from historical ideology to mundane life in themes, from historical analysis to history entertainment in narrative approaches, and from form exploration to technique dilution. The overall transformation is manifested by de-historization, de-ideology, de-technique and cross-style creation.

A Brief Discussion on the Third Technology Revolution
WEI You-hai
The third technology revolution is information technology revolution. The basic characteristics of information technology is to reinforce the function of human sense organs, nerve system and brains. Therefore, information technology can also be called the “sensing, transmitting and thinking technology (STTT), and information technology revolution can thus be called STTT revolution. It is STTT revolution that prompts economic globalization, makes mental labor a major form of value creation, accelerates the coming of knowledge economy, and pushes biology to progress into modern biology, which enables humans to design and manufacture new life forms and promote the development of nanotechnology. To meet the opportunities and challenges of the third technology revolution, we need to adjust our educational policy accordingly, attach greater importance to innovative personnel training, focus on the combination of education with production, scientific research, technological development, and work practices.

“Lan Yu Party Case”and the Fate Change of the Founding Generals’ Families of Ming Dynasty
WU Qi, ZHU Zhong-wen
Before the death of the crown prince Zhu Biao, families of the founding generals of Ming Dynasty had been given preferential treatment and supported by Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang.“Lan Yu party case” was triggered by the death of the crown prince Zhu Biao, which was more by chance than necessity. In the case, Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang didn’t wipe out the families of the founding generals. Due to their own particularity, some families survived and were entrusted with important posts, while some declined thereafter.

Reflection upon Chinese Higher Education Reform and its Re-Start
ZHANG Ying-qiang
The characteristics of Chinese higher education reform in recent thirty years are as follows: in terms of the subject, the government is the designer, initiator, and propeller of the reform; in terms of the content, the reform of higher education system and mechanism is the core; in terms of the approach, “patching” is the basic mode. To comprehensively deepen the reform, there should be some limits on the power of the government. The main function of the government is to design a legal university system, build university statutes of legal significance, make clear the independent legal person position of universities, and transform universities into autonomous society-oriented legal entities. We need to break through the dual system of higher education, and allow the market competition mechanism to play a decisive role. We also need to understand the essence of the comprehensive reform of higher education, ensure it follows a correct direction, and bring it into a legal track.

On Trends and Implications of International Higher Education Reform
XIAO Hai-tao
School system is the system comprised of all types of schools at all levels in a country. The school system reform is highly related to the development of a country’s higher education. If it is done well, higher education turns to benign development. If not, higher education may go astray. In today’s world, higher education has been expanding rapidly and witnessing increasingly similar structures and directions. The school system reform faces many new challenges and trends such as: education programs in higher education have been upgraded with undergraduate education as the major part and graduate education continuously strengthened; higher vocational education is greatly developed; common higher education and higher vocational education are well connected; higher education system is diversifying. The school system reform of world higher education provides us some experiences for reference, especially when we need to attach greater importance to the diversification of higher education at present.
