Abstract：The research on Lingnan Scholl and the literature study of its poetry are two subjects which are distinct from and yet related to each other. Lingnan School originated from Tang and Song Dynasties, and rose to its fame in late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties. For more than six to seven hundred years, Lingnan School dominated the literary world, becoming an important group in the same league as the brilliant poets in central China and the southern bank of the Yangtze River. From Ming and Qing Dynasties to modern times, there had been comments and judgments on Lingnan School. But in contemporary China, few take it as a separate subject for research. It is important for the academics to make a systematic research on the school’s history, activities, origins, styles, achievements, and historic influence.
