Abstract School system is the system comprised of all types of schools at all levels in a country. The school system reform is highly related to the development of a country’s higher education. If it is done well, higher education turns to benign development. If not, higher education may go astray. In today’s world, higher education has been expanding rapidly and witnessing increasingly similar structures and directions. The school system reform faces many new challenges and trends such as: education programs in higher education have been upgraded with undergraduate education as the major part and graduate education continuously strengthened; higher vocational education is greatly developed; common higher education and higher vocational education are well connected; higher education system is diversifying. The school system reform of world higher education provides us some experiences for reference, especially when we need to attach greater importance to the diversification of higher education at present.
