Abstract Personal information refers to all the information used to identify a natural person. The legislation models of personal information protection can be classified into decentralized self-regulation model and unified legal regulation model. Both models have their pros and cons. In view of the current situation of private sphere in China and for the purpose of protecting personal information more effectively, unified legal regulation is more appropriate.
