Abstract:From a Mongolian tribe to the state of Yuan Dynasty, the development of ancient Chinese lacquer art experienced a cultural fission from “a community” to “a political entity”. The study of lacquer culture involves many practical issues at a tribe level, such as “slave labor" "technological trends", and “plant pattern”, but the Marine Silk Road opened a new space for cross-cultural dialogue between East and West for diversity development of lacquer culture and national culture, and released enormous energy in overseas culture diffusion. The lacquer culture spillover of Yuan Dynasty along the Marine Silk Road not only promoted the technology perfection of lacquer ware, but also reshaped the image of national culture of Yuan Dynasty in the world and inspired the imagination of Chinese culture among people overseas. Besides, it witnessed the historical meaning and logic content of the transformation of Mongolian people from a tribe to a state.
