Abstract：Against the dual backdrop of accelerating population aging in China and rigid constraints on labor supply, the traditional labor-intensive model of elderly care has become unsustainable, and smart elderly care is widely regarded as a key pathway to alleviating supply-demand imbalances. Grounded in demand-preference theory, this study focuses on the core proposition of “enhancing the competency adaptability of smart elderly care talents under labor increment constraints” and constructs a multi-dimensional “disease-service-capability” matching model, through which it investigates the service demand profiles of older adults across heterogeneous health statuses and evaluates the current state of supply-side capabilities. Results indicate that disease type and severity-particularly cardiovascular diseases, cognitive impairment, and endocrine disorders-significantly shape demand structures; the traditional one-size-fits-all model can no longer meet increasingly complex and multi-tiered needs, while smart elderly care faces bottlenecks including competency-structure mismatches and limited proficiency in operating intelligent devices. Consequently, there is an urgent need to build a precision-supply talent adaptation mechanism along five dimensions—multi-actor collaborative training, industry-education integrated curricula, supply dispatching models, job evaluation mechanisms, and market-competition safeguards—to shift elderly care talent development from quantitative expansion to qualitative enhancement. This approach provides theoretical support and practical pathways for establishing a high-quality, precision-oriented smart elderly care system.
