Abstract:The period of the 13th Five-Year Plan is essential to promoting rural revitalization. The analysis of the supply efficiency of public cultural service in western rural areas is conducive to advancing the effective allocation of public cultural service resources in those regions and pushing forward the overall development of modern public cultural service.Taking the total-factor productivity (TFP) in the Malmquist index model as the measurement index, the paper analyzes the differences and convergence of the supply efficiency of public cultural services in western rural areas from 2007 to 2018 with comprehensive application of convergence and convergence test methods. The findings are as follows:the efficiency of public cultural service supply in western rural areas still shows negative growth, and the improvement of technical efficiency is the principal factor for the change in current supply efficiency; The gap between the public cultural service supply efficiency in the whole western rural areas has not been narrowed, the absolute gap still exists; However, after introducing variables such as the level of economic development, the gap in efficiency of public cultural service supply in different regions shows a significant trend of narrowing. In addition, the convergence rate of the rural public cultural service supply efficiency in the western two regions is also different, and the factors that affect the convergence have significant spatial differences.in the future, the improvement of the supply efficiency of public cultural services in western rural areas requires reasonable adjustment of the allocation structure and scale of resource factors according to regional characteristics, closer integration of public cultural services and digital culture, and strategies for public cultural services in accordance with local conditions.
