Abstract:In the context of slowing economic growth,it is urgent to seek new drivers for Chinese economy to accelerate the conversion of old drivers into new ones.Sharing economy,a new type of economy and a leader in a new round of information revolution and industrial transformation, plays an important role in this process.Based on the provincial panel data of China from 2004 to 2018,this paper conducts an empirical discussion on the mechanism of sharing economy's impact on the conversion of old economic drivers into new ones and its driving path. The findings show that sharing economy,a new economic driver, can directly promote the conversion of old drivers into new ones.Scientific and technological innovation capacity, green development and high-quality development of real economy are three important driving mechanisms for turning old economic drivers into new ones, and sharing economy has profound impact on all of them.Specifically,in terms of scientific and technological innovation, sharing economy plays a positive regulatory role in eastern China and a negative role in central and western China. In terms of quality of development, sharing economy has improved resource allocation and promoted the development of emerging consumption patterns, positively regulating the driving effect of the development quality of real economy on the conversion of old driver into new ones, and this regulatory effect is more obvious in the central and eastern regions. In terms of development model, the expansion of sharing economy has a dilution effect, which reduces the effect of green development for the conversion of old drivers into new ones.
